Abstract

In its development, the term management has been substantially equated with the term administration. The difference between the two lies in their scope alone. Administration  is broader in scope than  management. Both emphasize achieving work efficiency and effectiveness for greater profits. The definition of school management is actually an application of management science in the field of schooling. School administration-school management. The use of the terms administration and management in the field of schooling is actually not substantially different. Both can be viewed essentially from three points of view, namely as science, as art and as an activity process. Administration and management are seen as an activity process, which consists of managerial activities and operational activities. Managerial activities are activities that should be carried out by people who have the status and authority as managers.
