Hajj Sufism According to Imam Al-Ghazali in the Book Asraru Al-Hajj

This article discusses Imam Al-Ghazali's views on the Sufism of the Hajj as reflected in his work, Asraru al-Hajj. Imam Al-Ghazali in this book explains the Hajj not only as a physical and ritual worship, but also as a profound spiritual journey. Hajj, for Al-Ghazali, is a means to achieve closeness to God and purification of the soul. Through various symbols and practices in the Hajj, Al-Ghazali teaches the importance of sincere intentions, purity of heart, and self-control. This article uses qualitative methods to analyze Al-Ghazali's thoughts on the dimensions of Sufism in the Hajj, with a textual study approach and interpretive analysis. This study aims to provide deeper insight into the role of the Hajj as a path to spiritual enlightenment according to Al-Ghazali's Sufism perspective, and how the concept is relevant in the life of a Muslim who wants to achieve spiritual perfection.
